Scott M. Goldstein, MD
Dr. Goldstein is a practicing Oculo-Facial Plastic surgeon in the Philadelphia region who earned a BS in Business from Cornell University in 1992, an MD degree from Boston University School of Medicine, with honors, in1996 and completed a year of general medical training at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in 1997 where he was named Intern of the Year. Following residency in ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania’s Scheie Eye Institute, he completed a pediatric & adult ophthalmic plastic and aesthetic surgery fellowship based at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the University of Pennsylvania in 2002. Dr. Goldstein was then appointed Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2002 where he served as the director of medical education for the department of ophthalmology and oversaw the Oculoplastic surgery division at the Philadelphia Veterans Hospital. He was awarded the 2003 Golden Apple award as the outstanding Scheie Eye faculty teacher of the year.
In 2003, Dr. Goldstein shifted his energy and expertise to private practice in Bucks County, PA He was an active teacher of Ophthalmic Plastic Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia from 2005 until the Covid Pandemic in 2020. He still teaches part time at the University of Pennsylvania where he currently holds the rank of Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow of both the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the American Academy of Ophthalmology as well as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
Leadership positions include: president of the Ophthalmic Club of Philadelphia in 2006, founding President of Greater Philadelphia Ophthalmic Society in 2007, Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology President 2023-2025 and Treasurer of the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (2020-20025). He also serves on the American Academy of Ophthalmology Council as a representative from Pennsylvania (2024-2029) and is the chair of AAO Membership Advisory Committee (2026-2030).Dr. Goldstein is a distinguished author in the medical literature with multiple articles and book chapters to his credit. He frequently lectures regionally, nationally, and internationally in the areas of Oculo-Facial Plastic Surgery.
